Flocked artificial Christmas trees: what you need to know before you buy!
It’s that time of year again! The weather is cooling down, and you’re thinking about dusting off your Christmas decorations. A flocked artificial Christmas tree is a great way to add some sparkle to your holiday decorating.
If you’re in the market for a flocked artificial Christmas tree, here are some things to consider before making your purchase:
Size. Flocked trees come in all sizes, from tabletop models to those that reach up to 10 feet tall. Decide how big you want your tree before shopping — and make sure that the size fits into your space properly. Some flocked trees have branches that can be trimmed down if they’re too large or heavy; others don’t have any options for adjusting their size.
Type of flocking material used on the branches and trunk
Manufacturers use different materials for their flocking, including plastic hairs (similar to what’s used on pet grooming tools), soft plastic fibers, metal foil or metal fibers (like tinsel). Each type has its own look and feel — for example, metal fibers tend to give off more color than plastic ones do — so choose one that will suit your tastes best! Some also include glitter in addition to or instead of other types of materials.
Color options: The most common colors for fake trees are green and white, but some companies offer other colors as well, such as red or blue. You can even find flocked trees with silver or gold glitter in them for extra shimmering magic at your home during the holidays!
Shape: As far as shapes go, you’ll typically find two different types of flocked trees available at most retailers — either “full” or “half” (also known as “narrow”).
Tree’s material: The material used in making the tree is important because it will affect how long the tree lasts and how much care it needs. If you want your tree to last longer, then choose one made from a sturdy material such as PVC or polyester. These materials won’t easily break or become damaged when you move them around from room to room during the holidays.
Lighting: Some trees come with built-in lights that are easy to use, while others require you to string lights yourself. If you don’t like messing around with wiring, look for an artificial tree that comes with pre-wired lights. This way, all you have to do is plug them in and turn them on!
Price: The price of an artificial tree varies quite a bit depending on the type and size of tree that you buy. You can find a small tabletop tree for less than $50 or an 8-footer for over $100. If you’re looking for something more elaborate or higher quality than what’s available at your local hardware store, then expect to pay more.
Features – There are many features which come standard with most artificial Christmas trees today including lights, ornaments and stands. Some models even come with remote controls so you can operate them from across the room without having to walk over there every time you want something changed on your tree!
